Prairie
Grass Trail - Profile
London is attracting some serious riders from all around the area. Recently, Tony Pello, a resident of Worthington, Ohio was interviewed at the trailhead of the Prairie Grass Trail. Tony remarked that "completion of the London trail has been a Godsend for Columbus riders. It only takes me 25 minutes to get here from Worthington." Tony is in training for a once in a lifetime vacation bike tour in Spain in October. The 10-day tour will cover 550 miles in southern Spain, traveling through the cities of Seville, Cordoba and Granada. Since the opening of the Prairie Grass Trail in June, Tony has been averaging 100 to 250 miles per week on the trail. |
In August, Tony completed
a 100-mile "century
ride" from London
to Xenia, Beavercreek, Yellow Springs and back. Today Tony
completed
an 80-mile round trip from London to Yellow Springs. Tony stated that "Many riders in Columbus are ecstatic about the London trail. There are just no other trails close by where you can log the kind of miles that some of us like to ride, with so many options and destinations." No doubt that Columbus riders will also be happy with the opening of the final 6.5 mile segment of the Prairie Grass Trail from Maple Street to Wilson Road later this year. |
