Community Involvement We enjoy strong
backing from our community leaders, including the Madison County Park
District, the City of London, and the London Parks and Recreation
Department. We are members of the Downtown London association of
business merchants, and the Madison County Chamber of Commerce.
Our organization attends monthly meetings of the Madison County Park
District, and frequently attends London City Council meetings. We
also staff information booths at various local events, to keep the
community informed of the benefits of the trail.
Our organization has helped to make London a bicycle-friendly
community. The City of London has been the host for the MS150
Bikin' to the Beast Tour, and has also been a destination for XOBA -
The Across Ohio Bicycle Adventure. In 2002, London also hosted an
overnight stay for 3000 cyclists during GOBA - The Great Ohio Bicycle
Adventure.
Our organization is also negotiating with Norfolk Southern Railroad in
an effort to proceed with construction of the trail along the low-use
industrial rail spur corridor through downtown London.
