4 - Footbridge
The Madison County Senior Center has been instrumental in the
development of the London trailhead, and for years has provided space
for us to conduct our regular monthly meetings. One of our most
rewarding projects has been the construction of a footbridge that
connects the trailhead to the Senior Center.
A special thank you to Jim Schneider
of the Greene County Park District for providing the blueprints for the
design of the bridge, and for donating his time to assist FMCPT in the
construction. We would also like to recognize the following FMCPT
members for their involvement in the footbridge construction:
Gene Pass, Craig Pass, Wayne Roberts, Kevin Wright, Rodger Lynch, Bill
Young, Frank Slagle, Dustin Dickerson, Clint Morse, Dave Maharrey, and
Dan O'Kelly.
FMCPT dedicated the footbridge during
the ribbon cutting ceremony in June, naming it "McKenzie Bridge" in
honor of Richard and Ruth McKenzie. Richard has been our liaison
with the Madison County Senior Center over the years, and the
footbridge is our way of thanking the Senior Center for their support
of the Ohio to Erie Trail.
