Art in the ParksAs most of you know, members of the London Visual Arts Guild have been making great progress in communicating how each of us can express our inner creative talents. The Gallery on High in London is the result of a lot of hard work by the guild. The Board of Directors for the Friends of Madison County Parks and Trails see a connection between the beauty of our parks and trails, and the beautiful expression of our local artists and craftsmen in their creative talents. The theme for our annual auction this year will be "Art in the Parks" and there will be a specific time designated for auctioning artwork. We are now trying to locate artists and craftsmen that may want to participate in this event. Our goal is to help advertise the talent of our local artists and craftsmen, as well as, raise funds for our local parks and trails. If you or someone you know, may want to donate a piece of artwork for the auction, please let us know. If you are a local artists or craftsperson and would like to donate a piece of your work (or donate a part of the sales price), we would like to feature you and your artwork in a brochure. (If you are interested in being in the brochure, we will need to have your biography and a photo of your work by March 10, 2009). You will see on our flyer below that the auction is planned for Saturday, May 2nd at the Madison County Senior Citizens Center. We hope you will want to participate in this fun event and look forward to hearing from you.
