West Jefferson Ox Roast Bicycle Tour

Welcome to the 27th Annual Ox Roast Bicycle Tour! The Friends of Madison County Parks and Trails will sponsor the ride in cooperation with the West Jefferson Community Association, on Labor Day, Monday, September 3, 2018.

The Ox Roast Bicycle Tour was first organized in 1990 by Jared Miller as an Eagle Scout project. The Miller family continued to run the tour for 16 years, making it one of the most popular and well-organized tours in Ohio.

The tour consists of two different routes: a 32-mile and a 66-mile Metric Century option. Both rides will kick off between 8:00 and 9:00 am from Garrette Park, Fellows Avenue, West Jefferson, 43162. The routes will wind through Madison and extreme Western Franklin Counties, featuring flat to gently rolling terrain.

The following interactive maps are available courtesy of MapMyRide.com:

(Routes may change due to road conditions. Final maps will be available at the registration table.)

The $30.00 pre-registration fee includes a voucher for a famous West Jefferson Ox Roast sandwich which will go on sale at the festival site around noon. Also included are detailed tour maps, identification number (which must be displayed at all times), support services, food stops, and a membership in the Friends of Madison County Parks and Trails. Food items provided at rest stops include granola bars, fresh fruit, water, and sports drinks such as PowerAde or Gatorade.

We plan our tour by the number of pre-registrations received, so please help us out by signing up early. We are sorry but refunds cannot be made if you are unable to ride after you have registered. All registrations received after August 25, including the day of the tour will be $35.00.

How do I get there? West Jefferson is located on US Rt. 40 between Columbus and Springfield, Ohio. It is easily accessible from any area of Ohio and surrounding states.
