02-14-12 - Madison Press article: A biker's breakfast

A young boy about 8 years old named Eli remained with his mom waiting for the announcements of the winners of the raffles and silent auction. As is our custom, we looked around for a child to pull the winning number for the raffles. Eli was the only child left waiting for the big announcements, so he was asked to do the honors. His first task was to select the winner of the refurbished child size bike. He shuffled his hand through the deep raffle ticket jar and pulled out a ticket. His jaw suddenly dropped as he looked up and shouted in amazement: "It's me!" The officials quickly checked the ticket showing his name and were delighted to give their confirmation. Eli's mom said later that he hasn't stopped talking about his "new" bike. We hope we found a new trail rider.
