This photo gallery documents the timeline of events in the development and construction of the Maple St to Walnut St trail extension in downtown London.
In late 2016 and early 2017, the Friends of the Madison County Parks and Trails began discussions with landowner Kelly Manns to acquire the five-acre plot near the intersection of Maple and Center streets, extending to the intersection of Walnut and Center streets.
The goal is to extend the Ohio to Erie Trail off the roadways further into downtown London, eventually connecting the Roberts Pass Trail at Maple Street to the Prairie Grass Trail at the Madison County Senior Center.
Construction began in November 2017, and was completed in June 2018. Press releases and photos are listed with the most recent entries appearing from top to bottom.
